The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency plans to launch a full and open competition for a potential 10-year, $850 million multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for research and development services in support of the missions of NGA and international partners.
NGA expects to release in May the solicitation for the Research Development Contract, which will serve as a follow-on to the RECON contract with Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), according to a presolicitation notice published Wednesday.
In 2018, NGA awarded Booz Allen the $245 million Research Contract to help the agency improve GEOINT capabilities through R&D services.
Under RDC, the contractor will develop and support testing of GEOINT R&D and preproduction hardware and software prototypes; integrate technologies into major acquisition programs; procure support equipment, supplies and applications to back maintenance and operations of prototypes; support testing of own prototypes; and provide cloud environments.
The recompete contract will have a base period of five years and one option term of five years.
