NEC National Security Systems has appointed human resources executive Shanna Dick as vice president of people and culture. The company announced Dick’s appointment in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday.

What Will Shanna Dick Do at NEC NSS?

“As Vice President of People & Culture for the current NEC NSS & ARS business units and the future NEC SWS‑US, I am honored to help lead the integration of two successful organizations into one unified company with a shared purpose, shared values, and a bright future,” Dick said.

She described the opportunity as a chance to “help create, design, and build something entirely new” and emphasized the importance of people in driving business success.

Who Is Shanna Dick?

Dick brings more than two decades of human resources leadership experience spanning talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, benefits design and employment law.

Before joining NEC NSS in April, she served as senior director of people success and head of human resources at MBL Technologies. She also spent more than a decade at Concert Technologies, where she held several leadership positions, including vice president of organizational management and director of human resources.

Earlier in her career, Dick worked as a training and policy program analyst in the FBI’s human resources organization and served as an extension instructor in human resources at West Virginia University.

In addition to her corporate responsibilities, she serves on the board of directors of the Washington Area Total Rewards Association.

Dick holds a doctorate in business administration with a concentration in human resources management from Northcentral University, a master’s degree from Texas A&M University and a bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University.

How Does the Appointment Fit Into NEC NSS Leadership Changes?

Dick’s appointment comes following the promotion of longtime finance executive Alex Mutambudzi to chief financial officer.

Led by President Todd Morris, NEC NSS provides biometric identity, artificial intelligence and security technologies to defense, intelligence, homeland security and law enforcement customers. The company delivers capabilities supporting identity verification, access control, border security, advanced analytics and fiber-optic sensing applications.
