Juan Garcia, a 26-year U.S. Navy veteran and former leader for global associate development at Amazon, has been named a managing director for the defense, security and justice sector at Deloitte Consultings government and public services practice.
He will work with federal agencies to help them address workforce transformation goals, Deloitte said Monday.
“Juan’s years of military service combined with his experience leading private sector workforce programs will be invaluable to our clients,” said Nathan Houser, a Deloitte Consulting principal.
Prior to Amazon, Garcia also worked as assistant secretary for manpower at the Navy during the Obama administration. He served as a naval aviator for 13 years and a Navy Reserves member for another 13 years.
He served as a special assistant to the Department of Education secretary and in the Texas House of Representatives, as well as practiced law at Hartline, Dacus, Barger, Dryer & Kern LLP.
