Six firms have received spots under a potential five-year, $240M, multiple-award contract for design and construction services in support of U.S. Navy forces in Africa.
The awardees will demolish, design, build and repair airfields, hangars, air traffic stations, infrastructure and other facilities primarily at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti and additionally at other locations worldwide, the Defense Departmentsaid Friday.
The companies will perform work over a one-year base period and may continue through October 2023 if all options are exercised.
The Navy initially obligates $10M in fiscal 2018 military construction and 2019 operations and maintenance funds, and will award future funds with every task order.
ECC-MEZ, the first of the firms to receive tasks, will perform an initial $9.9M order to expand an aircraft apron at Camp Lemonnier.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command solicited for these services and received 18 responses for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract.
