Progeny Systems has won a potential seven-year, $186.5M contract to update a common broadband advanced sonar system for the U.S. Navy.
The company will provide detail design, engineering development models and proof-of-design, manufacturing and low-rate initial production units for the Mk 48 mod 7 CBASS heavyweight torpedo program, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The Navy received three offers for the contract, which includes a $115.7M base value and covers the provision of factory test equipment and engineering and hardware repair services.
Work is initially scheduled to conclude in February 2024 and would extend through August 2026 if the military service exercises all options.
Naval Sea Systems Command will initially obligate $5.8M in fiscal 2019 research, development, test and evaluation funds at the time of award.
