Navy Seeks Industry Input for Follow-On T-34, T-6 Aircraft Maintenance Contract

The U.S. Navy is conducting market research to identify companies capable of providing maintenance and logistics support for its T-34 and T-6 aircraft programs

According to a sources sought notice posted on SAM.gov, Amentum is currently providing the services under the Contracted Maintenance, Modification, Aircrew and Related Services contract vehicle. Task orders for T-34 and T-6 aircraft programs under CMMARS were originally awarded to DynCorp International in February 2020. Amentum acquired DynCorp later that year.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division is now seeking qualified contractors with experience delivering organizational, intermediate and depot-level support for the aircraft to continue the ongoing work. Responses to the sources sought notice are due Sept.10.

Scope of Work

The selected contractor will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul of engines, propellers, avionics and related systems for the T-34 fleet, following original equipment manufacturer manuals, Department of Defense and Navy directives, and Federal Aviation Administration requirements.

For the T-6, responsibilities include organizational-level maintenance, intermediate-level work and depot-level support, encompassing quality assurance, engineering services, hazardous materials management, technical library operations, contractor training, property management and support equipment maintenance.

The Navy anticipates awarding a single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed-price, labor-hour and cost-plus-fixed-fee line items, plus cost-reimbursable items for other direct costs. A draft request for proposals is expected in February 2026, followed by the final version in April 2026 and an award in January 2027.

Work will be performed at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, NAS Pensacola, NAS Whiting Field, NAS Oceana, NAS Lemoore, NAF El Centro and MCAS Miramar. The anticipated performance period is April 1, 2027, through March 31, 2032.

CMMARS Program

The forthcoming contract is part of the Navy’s CMMARS program, a multibillion-dollar vehicle awarded in 2019 to 19 companies, including Amentum’s DynCorp International. CMMARS provides aircraft maintenance and logistics for Navy and Air Force fixed- and rotary-wing platforms, unmanned systems, subsystems and related weapon systems, supporting both U.S. and foreign military sales customers.
