Navy Seeks to Advance Maritime Sustainment Tech Prototype Projects Through Consortium

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division has asked industry for proposals to organize and run a consortium that will carry out individual and collaborative prototype projects related to maritime sustainment technology concepts through its members.

A solicitation notice posted Monday says NSWCPD is seeking a consortium management firm to form and operate the Maritime Sustainment Technology and Innovation Consortium.

The selected CMF will sign a base other transaction authority with NSWCPD on behalf of the consortium. The base OTA will have a three-year base period and seven option years.

NSWCPD wants MSTIC to advance government-industry collaboration to facilitate partnerships with nontraditional defense contractors in order to gain access to critical technology platforms. Through the consortium, the agency intends to identify and acquire sustainment platforms to address current and future security threats facing warfighters in maritime environments.

The naval center is interested in prototype projects that focus on maritime sustainment technology concepts including commercial-off-the-shelf devices to address obsolescence and tech refresh, data transformation, cyber, fleet introduction technologies and waterfront industrial support operations.

Proposals are due Sept. 18, according to the notice.
