The U.S. Navy is set to reopen a solicitation process to add vendors on the potential 10-year, $50B SeaPort Next Generation contract vehicle for systems engineering, software and technical services by fiscal 2021, Bloomberg Government reported Friday.
Naval Sea Systems Command could issue a request for proposals via a rolling admissions approach in January 2021 as part of efforts to increase the current pool of 1,870 SeaPort NxG contractors.
NAVSEA received 1,894 bids for the follow-on, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract and named the initial group of awardees in late 2018.
The report said General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) secured over $6B in funds through the SeaPort-e vehicle since fiscal 2001 and Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) received $384M in contract obligations during fiscal 2018.
