The U.S. Navy has awarded International Marine & Industrial Applicators and QED Systems positions on a potential $260.1 million contract to help the military branch preserve and install coatings on various naval ships and vessels.
The Defense Departmentsaid Thursday both companies will compete for individual delivery orders over a five-year period to provide single and multiple coat systems, ultra-high solids, epoxy, solvent-based, anti-fouling and associated repair requirements for aircraft carriers, submarines and other vessels.
Work will occur in Bremerton, Banger, and Everett, Washington, through May 2022.
The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility is the contracting activity and will obligate $2,000 at the time of award from the Navy’s fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract was awarded through a competitive procurement process with two proposals received via the FedBizOpps website.
