The U.S. Navy has awarded Boeing(NYSE: BA), AAR Corp.‘s (NYSE: AIR) aircraft services business and StandardAero contracts worth up to $268.7 million combined to support maintenance and repair of the service branch’s P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft.
All three contractors can vie for individual task orders to deliver P-8A support services to the Navy, Australian government and other foreign military sales customers, the Defense Departmentsaid Thursday.
Boeing and AAR are the primary and secondary awardees, respectively, on the contract’s airframe section that encompasses maintenance; in-service repair; planner and estimator requirements; technical directive incorporation; airframe modifications and ground support.
StandardAero and Boeing are the respective primary and secondary awardees under the engine depot support portion that covers depot maintenance and repair; field assessment; overhaul engine repair; and engine replacement assistance.
Work will occur at contractor facilities through January 2019.
The Naval Air Systems Command received four proposals for the contract’s airframe portion, four for the engine work and one for both portions.
