Navy Orders $89M in Lockheed-Built Avionics Test Systems

Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) rotary mission systems business has received a three-year, $89.2M contract modification to produce an additional 35 automated systems for U.S. Navy avionics testing and validation.

The award covers full-rate production of electronic Consolidated Automated Support Systems along with associated shore and ship installation kits, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.

DoD added the company will provide rack rail kits, calibration equipment and operational test program sets to the military service for self-maintenance and calibration.

Contract work will take place in Orlando, Florida, through December 2023.

According to Lockheed, eCASS is based on the company’s LM-STAR Standard Test Operations and Run-time Manager that also supports F-35 avionics.

The company received Navy approval to commence eCASS FRP efforts in 2017.
