The U.S. Navy is seeking potential contractors to design, test and build a medium unamnned underwater vehicle platform that can be launched from submarines and expeditionary vessels.
The service branch said Friday it wants new MUUVs with a common open architecture baseline, sensors and launch-and-recovery systems.
Interested parties should provide designs for the Razorback Torpedo Tube L&R version, which is intended for ocean surveillance and based on the submarine-launched littoral battlespace sensing autonomous undersea vehicle.
Offerors must also submit concepts for the Maritime Expeditionary Mine Countermeasures UUV configuration, which covers surface-launched MCM L&R functionalities.
The project will support the Unmanned Maritime Systems Program Office within the Navy's Program Executive Office for Unmanned and Small Combatants, as well as the MEMUUV division within the Naval Sea Systems Command's Expeditionary Missions Program Office.
