Boeing (NYSE: BA) will continue to modernize F/A-18E/F jets for the U.S. Navy under a $172.2M contract modification as part of the service branch’s Super Hornet service life extension efforts.
The award increases the ceiling value of a previously awarded indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the company to help the service branch extend the operational lifetime of 23 F/A-18E/F aircraft from 6K to 10K flight hours, the Department of Defense said Monday.
The company initially received a $73.2M IDIQ contract in February last year to perform service life modifications on four Super Hornets.
Work under the modification will occur through May 2022 in Texas, California and Missouri.
