The U.S. Navy has awarded five companies indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts with a combined value of $1.5 billion for construction, renovation, modernization, and routine repair and maintenance services at the Navy Support Facility on the island of Diego Garcia in the British Indian Ocean Territory.
The contract was competitively procured online with five offers received. The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Far East, which is housed inside the Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka in Japan, serves as the contracting activity.
Black Construction/MACE International JV will receive $6 million for the seed project at the time of the contract award. The rest will receive $100,000 each for the minimum contract guarantee.
