The U.S. Navy has selected six companies to compete for task orders to provide radiological remediation support services at several Navy and Marine Corps bases under a potential five-year, $240 million contract.
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego received eight offers for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract through an online solicitation, the Defense Departmentsaid Tuesday.
The multiple-award, firm-fixed-price contract has a base term of one year and four one-year options and covers environmental investigations, remediation, surveys, waste materials handling and work documents preparation in support of the service branchs environmental programs.
The contractors will perform work through March 2022 at military installations in California, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah and other locations that are part of NAVFAC Atlantic and NAVFAC Southwest areas of responsibility.
NAVFAC Southwest obligated $1.5 million from operations and maintenance and base realignment and closure funds for fiscal 2017 at the time of award.
