A General Electric (NYSE: GE) business unit has received a potential five-year, $366.2M contract to repair components of T-64 engine that powers the U.S. Navy’s heavy-lift helicopters.
GE Aviation will fix 18 head-of-family part numbers under the sole-source, firm-fixed-price requirements contract, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
The Navy will obligate working capital funds with each task order.
Work will take place in Cherry Point, N.C., through February 2024.
T-64 engines are designed for rotary- and fixed-wing platforms such as the CH-53 Super Stallion and MH-53E Sea Dragon.
