The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has awarded National Government Services a potential $310 million contract to continue helping CMS manage contact center calls from Medicare beneficiaries and health insurance marketplace customers through the Next-Generation Desktop program.
National Government Services said Monday the follow-on contract has a two-month base period of performance and up to nine option years.
The company noted its NGD program works to help approximately 20,000 Medicare and marketplace customer service representatives process more than 60 million calls annually.
CSRs uses the program to access data from claims and enrollment systems as well as view history of interactions.
The system is designed to also help CMS assist consumers who shop for or seek information about private health plans via the federally run marketplace.
National Government Services has supported the NGD program since 2001.
