Todd May, director of NASA‘s Marshall Space Flight Center, has been named vice president of space strategy for KBR‘s (NYSE: KBR) government services arm.
He will formally join KBRwyle in July and will also lead the unit’s systems analysis and services division that serves federal civilian and defense customers, the company said Wednesday.
KBRWyle President Byron Bright said May will bring professional background and technical expertise as the company aims to help address space industry challenges.
May began his NASA career in 1991 as an engineer and later supervised development and operations teams in the International Space Station Program for 10 years.
His other previous roles include time as Space Launch System program manager, deputy associate administrator for the agency’s science mission directorate and associate director for technical at Marshall.
He served as Marshall’s deputy director and acting director before he assumed his current role in February 2016.
