NASA has issued a draft request for proposals for a contracting opportunity to provide highly specialized operations support to the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston and its affiliated organizations, according to a notice posted on SAM.gov.
The agency plans to select multiple companies to assist the JSC Flight Operations Directorate in efforts to develop, maintain and update software or systems under the Mission Enabling Services Contract.
Work will include a potential five-year project to update NASA’s Aircraft Management Information System, a suite of software applications used to manage government aviation and aircraft activities. The NAMIS portion of the acquisition vehicle will be an open and full competition.
The MESC vehicle also features a five-year, single-award contract for spaceflight enabling services and a multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a similar scope as the singe-award component, plus additional research and development technology services.
NASA will accept public comments on the draft solicitation notice until Aug. 2 and expects to release the final RFP by Aug. 26. The agency anticipates awarding contracts in June 2022.
