NASA Awards Marshall Logistics Support Services II Contract to Akima Business

NASA has awarded a potential $96.3 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to an Akima subsidiary for logistics support services.

Akima Global Logistics will provide logistics support for the space agency’s Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, as part of the MSFC Logistics Support Services II performance-based contract, NASA said Thursday.

Services supporting the center’s institutional operational framework include management, disposal operations, equipment, mail, transportation, life cycle logistics and supply chains.

MLSS II contract has a one-year base period and a one-year option period. Work will start Sept. 1.

According to a draft request for proposals for the second iteration of MLSS, the contract was planned to be a total 8(a) small business set-aside program covering logistics support service.
