Molex, a global electronics connectivity innovator, has agreed to acquireSmiths Interconnect, a Smiths Group subsidiary offering high-reliability connectivity products.
Molex said Thursday the move aims to expand its presence in the aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor testing, and industrial markets. The transaction involves cash consideration, subject to customary adjustments for working capital, cash and debt. Pending regulatory review and customary closing conditions, it is expected to be finalized in the first half of 2026.
What Molex Gains From Smiths Interconnect Acquisition?
Smiths Interconnect develops advanced electronic components and microwave, optical and radio frequency products and subsystems, used to connect, protect, and control critical applications. Through the planned acquisition, Molex will add Smith Interconnect’s global network of 21 sales, research, development and manufacturing facilities across 12 countries, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Italy, the UK, Tunisia, India, China and Singapore.
