Mitre has won a potential $1.5B recompete contract from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to continue operating the CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare Federally Funded Research and Development Center through 2023.
The agency announced the contract award in a FedBizOpps notice posted Tuesday.
In a separate announcement, Mitre said it will continue to work with its industry, nonprofit and academic partners to manage the FFRDC.
The alliance has operated the center since 2012.
Jason Providakes, president and CEO of Mitre and a 2018 Wash100 recipient, said the corporation seeks to combine its health policy and science, data analytics, cybersecurity and enterprise modernization experiences with those of the private sector to help CMS address the nation’s health care challenges.
CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare, along with the Center for Veterans Enterprise Transformation, other FFRDC work programs and independent research, allowed Mitre to develop methods to help clinicians manage care using data as well as accelerate drug discovery efforts.
