The Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lincoln Laboratory received a $2.03B contract modification from the U.S. Air Force to research and develop technology platforms for the Department of Defense.
The modification brings the total value of a previously awarded contract to $9.6B and covers long-term tech R&D, rapid prototyping and demonstration efforts at a federally funded research and development facility located in Lexington, Mass., the DoD said Thursday.
Lincoln Lab FFRDC explores advanced platforms in various areas such as air traffic control, communications, engineering, cybersecurity, homeland protection, space and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance areas.
The Pentagon expects work under the modification to conclude by March 31, 2020.
