Michael Atcheson, formerly program director of the international business unit at Northrop Grummans (NYSE: NOC) mission systems sector, has been named president of command and control technologies group at Comtech Telecommunications (Nasdaq: CMTL).
He succeeds Richard Burt, the groups acting president who will continue to serve as a senior vice president at Comtech and Comtech Systems president, the company said Tuesday.
The command and control technologies group is under Comtechs government solutions segment that supports end-users in both U.S. and foreign governments.
Atcheson, also a colonel with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, has more than two decades of experience in the civilian and military contracting sector.
He spent 14 years at Northrop, where he led local and international programs in the areas of ground communications systems, undersea platforms and radars.
Prior to Northrop, Atcheson worked as an associate at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) in support of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.
