A new McAleese & Associates report says the full Senate is expected to decide Tuesday on the nomination of Army Secretary and 2019 Wash100 winner Mark Esper to be the next secretary of the Department of Defense.
Esper said during his confirmation hearing that he plans to reform DoDs Fourth Estate and Jim McAleese, founder and principal at McAleese & Associates and a 2019 Wash100 winner, wrote that the White House nominee is expected to hold a night court review of the Fourth Estate to free up funds for modernization efforts.
Esper expressed support to the proposed Space Force and efforts to accelerate work on artificial intelligence, directed energy, robotics and autonomy, space and hypersonics.
He also cited the need to modernize the nuclear triad and Chinas involvement in cyber attacks, according to the report.
The Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday approved by a voice vote Espers nomination for the post.
