Two companies have won contracts worth $469 million combined to help the Federal Emergency Management Agency transport commodities for disaster response and recovery operations in the Hawaii Islands.
FEMA awarded $279.2 million to Matson Logistics and $189.8 million Ceva Freight to support the agency’s Resource and Capability Transportation Support during Disasters program, according to award notices posted on SAM.gov .
Under the program, the two companies will help move water, fuel, generators, food and other commodities from ports in mainland U.S. to the islands before or after a disaster.
