The enterprise cloud and industrial artificial intelligence software provider said Thursday Buongiorno will succeed Scott Helmer, who will serve as chairman of IFS Aerospace & Defense.
IFS Executive Team Role
As part of the IFS executive team, Buongiorno will oversee the strategic direction of the aerospace and defense business unit. He will enhance the company’s impact in the industry while focusing on delivering customer value to global airlines, MROs, and defense contractors. He will also oversee the development and growth of the AI technology portfolio, including IFS Cloud for Aviation Maintenance, MRO, and ERP.
The new president will leverage over thirty years of leadership experience in the aerospace and defense industry, with a proven track record of leading complex global operations and delivering sustained business growth.
Mark Buongiorno’s Career Achievements
The executive joins IFS from Tsunami Tsolutions, where he worked for over five years, most recently as the CEO. He also served as the chief operating officer of an engineering and IT services company for over three years.
Buongiorno previously served as vice president and general manager of StandardAero, overseeing the AS9110/FAR145/Military Qualification engine MRO complex. He also spent over a decade at Pratt & Whitney, serving in various leadership roles, including VP of F135 propulsion system at Pratt & Whitney military engines, executive director of business development, senior director of military engine programs and senior director of fleet management programs.
