Curtiss-Wright (NYSE: CW) plans to appoint Lynn Bamford, president of its defense and power segments, to become the corporation's president and CEO.
She would succeed David Adams, who plans to retire on Jan. 1, concluding the latter's seven-year tenure as CEO and over two decades of service with the company, Curtiss-Wright said Thursday.
Bamford has over three decades of professional experience encompassing the aerospace and defense industries. She held multiple executive-level positions at Curtiss-Wright since joining the company in 2004.
Her work with the company includes leadership of programs on turret stabilization, avionics and electronics systems. She oversees strategy, global activity, finances and technology development efforts of the company's defense and power units in her current role.
"Her long-standing track record of respected leadership and success in building a strong defense electronics portfolio, and most recently leading the defense and power segments, will support a seamless transition," commented Adams on Bamford's promotion.
Bamford plans to maintain the company's track record of growth and profitability and to continue pursuit of the One Curtiss-Wright vision.
The CEO-to-be will also serve as a member of Curtiss-Wright's board of directors. Adams will remain as the board's executive chairman through May 2022 before Bamford takes over.
