Lockheed Unit Secures $129M USAF Airlifter Logistics Support IDIQ

A Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) business unit has secured a potential two-year, $129.4 million contract to provide logistics support for the U.S. Air Force’s C-5 Galaxy transport aircraft fleet.

The company’s aeronautics segment will receive $31.5 million through a task order under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

USAF is using fiscal 2021 material supply division and operation and maintenance funds on the initial order.

Contract work will take place in Marietta, Georgia, and Greenville, South Carolina, through Jan. 31, 2022.

According to Lockheed, the C-5 Galaxy is designed to carry up to five helicopters on board or as many as six mine-resistant ambush-protected vehicles.
