Lockheed Unit Books $106M Contract to Support Army Missile Launch System Logistics

The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) a three-year, $106.3M contract to provide industrial engineering support to contractor-facilitated international logistics operations for the Multiple Launch Rocket System.

The service branch received one bid for the cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price contract and will obligate $9.6M in fiscal 2020 other procurement funds at the time of award, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.

The company's missile and fire control unit will perform work in Grand Prairie, Texas, through May 26, 2023.

Lockheed designed the MLRS to automatically fire surface-to-surface missiles and rockets, including two Army Tactical Missile System weapons or 12 MLRS rockets.
