Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a $206.8 million order modification from Naval Air Systems Command to adapt F-35 systems for developmental test and system modernization efforts.
The Department of Defense said Wednesday the company’s aeronautics segment will conduct non-recurring engineering activities, plan system adjustments and provide technical data packages to the Joint Strike Fighter Program.
Aircraft modifications are needed for domestic military and non-DOD participants in the program to test developmental units and Block 4 technologies, the Pentagon noted.
