Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has secured a potential seven-year, $462M contract to sustain the operational control segment of the U.S. Air Force‘s Global Positioning System satellites.
The company will also help the military service incorporate GPS Acquisition Category III programs onto the OCX platform, perform non-recurring engineering services and studies, and maintain hardware, software and a consolidated test environment, the Department of Defensesaid Friday.
The Air Force will obligate $41.5M at the time of award from its fiscal 2019 operations and maintenance funds.
Work under the sole-source contract will take place at Lockheed’s facility in Colorado Springs, Colo., through Dec. 31, 2025.
