Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received an $88 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy to provide Trident II D5 missile field processing and deployed system support.
The Defense Departmentsaid Monday the military branch issued the modification to fund work and exercise contract options under a previously awarded contract.
Work will occur in California, Florida, Washington, Georgia, Utah, Illinois, New York, Arizona, Tennessee, Massachusetts, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and other locations through September 2021.
The Strategic Systems Programs will obligate $87.4 million from the Navy’s fiscal 2017 weapons procurement and fiscal 2017 operations and maintenance funds as well as U.K. funds worth $736, 000 at time of award.
Lockheed-built Trident II is the latest generation of the Navy’s submarine-launched fleet ballistic missiles and is currently deployed from Ohio-class and British Vanguard-class submarines.
