The U.S. Army has awarded Lockheed Martin a $4.23 billion contract modification for the production of Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System, or GMLRS.
Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System Contract Details
The Department of Defense said Thursday the latest modification brings the total contract value to $13.27 billion.
Under the agreement, Lockheed Martin will continue manufacturing the precision-guided rocket systems until Oct. 20, 2027. The Army Contracting Command, located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, will determine work locations and funding details upon issuance of each order.
Bids for the contract were solicited via the internet, resulting in a single submission.
Previous Contract Modifications
Lockheed Martin was previously awarded a $3.43 billion contract modification in September 2024 to produce the surface-to-surface weapon systems. The contract is expected to be completed by Oct. 20, 2027.
In May, the company secured two contract modifications worth a combined $553.4 million. The first contract covers the production of $332.1 million worth of GMLRS for the Army. The other $221.2 million contract modification is for modernizing the M270 MRLS systems to the M270A2 configuration for the Army and foreign military sales to Finland, Italy and the U.K.
