Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received a potential $500M contract to supply the U.S. Navy with more than 200 units of equipment designed to test aircraft electronics.
The company said Tuesday it will produce and deliver Electronic Consolidated Automated Support Systems over a seven-year period.
Sailors uses eCASS to troubleshoot electronic components on the Navy’s aircraft platforms.
Amy Gowder, general manager and vice president for training and logistics solutions at Lockheed, said the system is now usable for avionics on fifth-generation platforms such as the F-35.
The company was awarded a $287M contract in 2000 to provide CASS units to the service branch.
