Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) aeronautics business will perform logistics support work for domestic and international customers of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program under a U.S. Navy contract modification worth $2.22 billion.
The Department of Defense said Thursday the company will conduct ground maintenance, operate an automatic logistics information system, train pilots and maintenance personnel, manage depot activities, sustain training systems and address action requests related to the F-35 air systems.
The majority of the work at Lockheed’s facility and will run through December 2023.
The Air Force will obligate $429.7 million in funding, while the Marine Corps and the Navy will dole out funds worth $121.2 million and $54.3 million, respectively. Foreign military sales customers will also obligate $121.6 million and non-DOD participants will allocate funds amounting to $293.7 million.
