Lockheed Joins Space Info Sharing & Analysis Center as Founding Member; Clark VanBuskirk Quoted

Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has become a founding member of the Space Information Sharing and Analysis Center, which aims to serve as the main communications channel for space industry to address security risks.

As an ISAC participant, the company looks to provide input on how to manage supply chain risks, multidomain threat intelligence operations and cyber technology platforms, the National Cybersecurity Center said Thursday.

Clark VanBuskirk, vice president of advance program development at Lockheed’s space mission solutions unit, will serve on the board of directors at Space ISAC.

œSoftware now defines the bulk of mission-critical capabilities and it™s under constant attack, VanBuskirk said.

œThe U.S.™s ability to track, defend, and fight adversaries increasingly depends on how well we can field the best secure software and hardware.

Established in April, Space ISAC is working with NCC on research and development efforts as well as training programs related to GPS and military satellite deployment.

Other Space ISAC founding members are Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH), Kratos Defense and Security Solutions (Nasdaq: KTOS), Mitre and SES.
