Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) rotary and mission systems business has received a potential $724M contract from the Missile Defense Agency to provide lifecycle engineering and development support for the Aegis ballistic missile defense system.
Work under the follow-on contract includes support for the development of Aegis Baseline 5.4.1 BMD 4.2; Baseline 9 BMD 5.X development; modeling and simulation; in-service support; flight and ground test services; Aegis system ship installation and planning; and Aegis Ashore missile defense test complex testing, combat system engineering, modernization, logistics, site and technical support, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The company will perform work in Moorestown, New Jersey, through February 2024 under the sole-source contract, which covers the Aegis Ashore configuration and those deployed on destroyers and cruisers.
