Lockheed Books Potential $88M F-35 Logistics Network Modernization IDIQ

The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) a potential two-year, $87.5M contract to help transition a worldwide logistics information system for F-35 aircraft into a cloud-based integrated network.

Lockheed will develop and mature the F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System, which is slated for migration into the Operational Integrated Data Network built to manage worldwide maintenance work for the fighter jets, the Department of Defense said Friday.

The contract additionally covers hardware and software meant for ODIN’s data management functionalities in support of the U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps as well as non-DoD entities.

Ellen Lord, undersecretary of defense for acquisition and sustainment and four-time Wash100 Award recipient, announced earlier this year that the department selected Lockheed to develop ODIN ahead of the network's scheduled deployment for fleet use in December 2022.

Naval Air Systems Command will obligate funds for the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity award upon issuance of individual orders.

Seventy-five percent of contract work will take place in Orlando, Fla., while the remaining 25 percent will occur in Fort Worth, Texas, through June 2022.
