Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received orders worth a combined $337 million to provide sensor systems and support services for Apache military helicopters of the U.S., U.K. and Saudi Arabia.
The orders for Modernized Target Acquisition Designation Sight/Pilot Night Vision Sensors fall under a potential five-year, $2 billion indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity contract from the U.S. Army, Lockheed said Monday.
M-TADS/PNVS is designed to offer long-range, precision engagement and pilotage capacities for Apache crews who conduct flight operations in day, night and adverse weather conditions.
Paul Lemmo, vice president of Lockheed’s fire control/special operations forces contractor logistics support program, said the company aims to help address defense customers’ M-TADS/PNVS upgrade requirements through the contract.
Lockheed will supply M‘TADS/PNVS Modernized Day Sensor Assembly upgrade kits to the U.K. ministry of defense as part of the agency’s D-model Apache modenization efforts.
The company will also provide M‘TADS/PNVS systems for E-model Apache helicopters of the Saudi ministry of national guard and Modernized Laser Range Finder Designator units to the U.S. Army.
