Lockheed Martin‘s (NYSE: LMT) aeronautics segment has won a potential $512M foreign military sales contract with the U.S. Air Force to build F-16 Fighting Falcon jets for the Bulgarian government.
Bulgaria conducted a competition for the aircraft procurement effort and ordered eight F-16s in Block 70 configuration, the Department of Defense said Thursday.
Work will take palce in Fort Worth, Texas, and Greenville, S.C., through Jan. 31, 2027.
F-16 Block 70 features an active electronically scanned array radar, an modern avionics architecture and updated systems meant to extend the aircraft’s structural life by more than 50 percent.
