Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) will support the production of a long-range precision missile under a $450 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract from the U.S. Air Force.
The contractor was tasked to work on development, integration, sustainment and other efforts related to the Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile program over a five-year period, the Department of Defense said Tuesday.
Lockheed will also support JASSM system upgrades, management and logistics. Work will be conducted at its Orlando, Florida location through June 10, 2027.
Air Force Life Cycle Management Center awarded the contract, which followed a sole source acquisition.
According to Lockheed, JASSM is designed to target fixed and relocatable adversarial threats from standoff range using an enhanced anti-jam GPS receiver and infrared seeker. It also features a penetrator and blast fragmentation warhead. The weapon system is capable of integrating with B-52, F-35 and other aircraft.
