Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has secured a one-year, $1.29B contract with Naval Air Systems Command to provide recurring logistics and initial training support to U.S. and international operators of the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter aircraft.
The company's aeronautics segment will perform ground maintenance work, address action requests, activate depot, maintain automatic logistics information systems, manage the supply chain and train in-service aircraft pilot and maintenance personnel, the Department of Defense said Monday.
Naval Air Systems Command is obligating $311.9M on the award with funds from the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Air National Guard, non-U.S. DOD participants and the FMS program.
Sixty-one percent of contract work will occur in Texas and the remaining 39 percent will take place in Florida, South Carolina, California and U.K.
DOD expects contract work to conclude in December next year.
