Lloyd Howell Jr., executive vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH) and head of the firms civil commercial group, has been appointed as the new chief financial officer and treasurer at the McLean, Virginia-based consulting services contractor.
Howell will succeed the retiring Kevin Cook on July 1 and also hold the total of principal financial officer with current controller Laura Adams appointed principal accounting officer, Booz Allen said Friday.
Cook led the firm through its initial public offering in 2010 and the 2008 separation of the commercial business into a company then known as Booz & Co., which merged with PwC in April 2014.
Lloyds proven leadership and unique insight will be valuable drivers as we execute against our long-term plan to achieve sustainable, quality growth, said Horacio Rozanski, president and CEO of Booz Allen.
The firm credits Howell with his work to launch Booz Allen’s re-entry into the commercial sector and expansion of the firm’s civil government market footprint.
Howell started his 28-year career at Booz Allen as a consultant and has served member of the personnel and disclosure committees at separate tenures and as a member of the strategy and organization capability team after he worked for Goldman Sachs.
He was previously a member of the board of directors at Integra LifeSciences Corp., where he serves on the audit and finance committees.
Howell was also the client service officer of the financial services account in the civil market at Booz Allen.
