The Lithuanian government has agreed with the U.S. to acquire $213M worth of UH-60M Black Hawk medium-lift aircraft as part of the European nation’s first-ever purchase of American-made helicopters, Defense News reported Saturday.
The Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence intends to procure four of the helicopters built by Lockheed Martin’s (NYSE: LMT) Sikorsky subsidiary to replace its military’s Mil Mi-8T aircraft.
Raimundas Karoblis, Lithuania's defense minister, signed the deal with the U.S. government during an official visit to Washington, D.C.
According to a statement from Lithuania's defense ministry that Defense News obtained, the potential foreign military sales agreement also covers ancillary equipment, spares, repair services and logistics support.
