DRS Laurel Technologies will perform work at its Johnstown, Pennsylvania location through April 2023 under the initial award worth $11.4 million, the Department of Defense said Friday.
The firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost-only contract has options that, if exercised, will extend work until April 2027 and raise the initial value to its potential amount.
DRS Laurel Technologies beat three other bidders for the contract, which was competitively procured through the SAM.gov website. Naval Sea Systems Command will obligate $6 million from the fiscal 2022 other procurement funds at the time of the award.
In January 2021, Leonardo DRS also secured a Navy contract for technical insertion of surface fleet combat management systems. The potential $211.5 million award required the company to sustain, produce, assemble and test TI-16 Combat Systems hardware and spares.
