Leonardo, then Finmeccanica, has purchased the remaining 60 percent of shares in Pisa, Italy-based Sistemi Dinamicifrom systems engineering firmIDSfor an undisclosed sum in a strategy to expand Leonardos portfolio of unmanned systems.
The transaction includes the acquisition of Sistemis SD-150 Hero unmanned helicopter program and will allow Leonardo to combine its capabilities in systems integration through the development of sensors and unmanned vehicles, Leonardo said Tuesday.
Mauro Moretti, CEO and general manager of Leonardo, said the acquisition seeks to reflect the companys investments in unmanned platforms.
