Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has won a potential eight-year, $7.7B indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to provide base network services for the Department of the Navy.
The award is for the service management, integration and transport portion of the Next Generation Enterprise Network Recompete contract and covers electronic software delivery, logistics management, endpoint detection, network operations, end user core build, service desk, security operations, transport and virtualization services, the Department of Defense said Wednesday.
Naval Information Warfare Systems Command received three offers for the IDIQ contract. Work is expected to conclude in February 2025 and could run through August 2028 if all options are exercised.
The service will award the initial task order with the basic contract, meeting the minimum guarantee of $10M in operations and maintenance funds for fiscal 2020.
“This contract will enable the digital modernization of our enterprise networks, which are the foundation for the Department of Navy business,” James Geurts, assistant secretary of the Navy for research, development and acquisition and a 2020 Wash100 award winner, said in a statement published Wednesday.
The Navy issued in October 2018 a solicitation for NGEN-R’s SMIT portion, which seeks to provide network services for the Navy Marine Corps Intranet, Marine Corps Enterprise Network and the outside continental U.S. Naval Enterprise Network.
