Leidos to Combine Operations Into New Reston, VA HQ; Roger Krone Comments

Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has signed a deal with Boston Properties to transfer its headquarters to a new office building in Reston Town Center in Virginia as part of plans to consolidate operations from two buildings into one facility.

Leidos said Tuesday construction work on the new HQ will start by spring of 2018 and that it expects the facility to be completed by the first quarter of 2020.

Roger Krone, Leidos chairman and CEO, said the new facility would help the company combine its employees under one building to facilitate operations and collaboration.

œOur new space will give us the opportunity to build on our culture and brand as a combined company, as well as be able to better tailor our working environment to meet employee needs, added Krone, a 2018 Wash100 recipient.

Leidos started its search for a new HQ building after the Reston-based government information technology services contractor reviewed its real estate portfolio following its purchase of Lockheed Martin™s (NYSE: LMT) information systems and global services business in 2016.

Architect Shalom Baranes designed the new building that includes conference facilities, a security perimeter and an underground parking.

Brian McMullan and Doug Seale of JLL represented Leidos in the agreement, while Joe Ritchey of Prospective acted as Boston Properties™ representative.
