Leidos Books $50M Naval Submarine Medical Research Lab Support Contract

Leidos (NYSE: LDOS) has secured an approximately $50 million contract to help the U.S. Navy’s Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory to study the health and performance of undersea warfighters.

The contract was competitively procured and not fixed price due to the nature of the work, according to an award notice posted Wednesday on SAM.gov.

NSMRL is the Navy’s only submarine-focused medical research command working to address the health care requirements of the service branch’s submarine force.

The lab conducts research on biomedical engineering, human factors, psychology, signal processing, electrical engineering, diver physiology and other related disciplines.

Leidos also provides support to the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego under a $57.7 million contract that Naval Medical Logistics Command awarded in 2019.
